NVIDIA introduces Holoscan for Media, an AI-driven platform allowing live video pipelines to run on the same infrastructure as AI, enhancing live media applications.

NVIDIA has announced the launch of its latest innovation, Holoscan for Media, a software-defined, AI-enabled platform designed to enhance live media applications. According to the NVIDIA Technical Blog, this new platform allows live video pipelines to run concurrently on the same infrastructure as AI, significantly streamlining development and deployment processes for media developers.

Transforming Live Media Development

The Holoscan for Media platform introduces a revolutionary approach to live media application development. Developers can now build and deploy applications as software on repurposable, NVIDIA-accelerated, commercial off-the-shelf hardware. This flexibility is a game-changer for the industry, eliminating the need for dedicated hardware environments and locations.

Guillaume Polaillon, product line manager for Live Media Solutions at NVIDIA, is featured in an explanatory video detailing how the platform operates and its potential benefits for developers. The video underscores the platform’s utilization of IP-based, cloud-native architecture, which integrates open-source and widely-used technologies.

Integration of Emerging Technologies

Holoscan for Media aims to simplify the development process, streamline delivery to customers, and integrate emerging technologies such as generative AI into live media solutions. This platform not only optimizes research and development expenditures but also enhances the adaptability and scalability of media applications.

The platform’s ability to leverage AI for live media workflows signifies a significant advancement in the industry, providing developers with the tools needed to innovate and evolve rapidly.

NVIDIA at IBC2024

NVIDIA will be showcasing Holoscan for Media and other solutions at IBC2024, scheduled for September 13-16. This event will provide an opportunity for industry professionals to explore the capabilities of NVIDIA’s latest technologies and network with peers.
