Moonfrost Launches Closed Alpha Release 3, Starts July 29

Moonfrost, a blockchain-based game that integrates farming simulation with social interactions, will launch its Closed Alpha Release 3 (AR3) phase on July 29 to introduce “The Village,” a social hub designed to enhance player interaction and community engagement.

This launch follows the release of the Frost-Hunter Genesis collection, consisting of 500 limited edition NFTs that were minted on July 24. These NFTs guarantee access to all future alpha and beta tests and offer potential airdrops of Frost ($FROST) tokens—the game’s exclusive cryptocurrency.

Access to AR3 is limited to Frost-Hunter Genesis Collection Holders, previous playtesters from AR1 and AR2, and community members having the ‘Welcome List’ role. The initial player cap is set at 10,000 and may be adjusted based on results from stress testing.

What is Moonfrost?

Developed by Oxalis Games, Moonfrost is a life-simulation farming RPG that combines the nostalgic charm of Stardew Valley with blockchain elements.

The game allows players to customize farms, build relationships with various characters, and uncover secrets. Players can farm, gather resources, craft items, and decorate homes whilst attracting NPCs to their towns.

The game is available on both PC and mobile platforms and includes social features that require an active internet connection.

What to expect from Alpha Release 3?

Moonfrost’s Alpha Release 3 (AR3) is scheduled to begin on July 29, and will introduce new features and updates whilst still being in the alpha development stage.

Participants should expect some incomplete areas and bugs, as the game is still being refined and feedback will be collected and used to make improvements throughout the playtest. Whilst character customization will not be available in AR3, players can expect changes to Shards ($SHARDS) distribution and leaderboard mechanisms.

A specific end date for the playtest will not be set initially and will be announced once the playtest is underway and adjustments to the game balance and player experience are assessed. However, it confirmed that AR3 will be available for a longer period compared to AR2 (Farming Fest).
